The challenge of this design was of a material nature. We were interested in creating a multi-functional commercial space by approaching it with a diversity of materials that reflects a seaside location. We re-imagined nature and searched for unique ways of incorporating it into the space by addressing scale, functionality and quality. So, the sea went onto the ceiling - blue Venetian plaster, the fish went into the floor - wood inlaid with marble, and the landscape on the wall - a vertical garden. Our palette also included references to the midnight sky, the brilliant orange of a seaside sunset and the texture of fur, which we chose to introduce through furnishings. To make the design work in a functional and interesting way, we were attentive to balance, maneuverability, the power of suggestion and the presence of a "je ne sais quoi".
