We wanted to create a weekend home - a comfortable haven away from the bustle of the city with plush velvets, colliding patterns, and textures that spoke of a comfort & warmth. We imagined an old farm house replete with a stone fence and nine-over-nine windows - and our challenge was to allow this project to be one of duration - "furnished-over-time". The right mix was key. We chose a tall antique moroccan lamp to grace the entryway. In the living room, we paired a Regency side table with a contemporary River Stone cocktail table by the Phillips Collection. The 19th century botanicals we selected for the dining room really came alive when we added mid-century Italian marble lamps on the credenza. To give the house an aged look, we installed reclaimed mahogany floors and covered them with custom rugs from CTRLZAK studio for a hint of contrast. The result is a rich and comfortable space!.
